Pros & cons

  • Panels can work independently: Two independent MPPTs allow the microinverter to manage each panel separately, so shading or a different orientation on one panel does not affect the performance of the other.
  • Ground or wall mounting options: Octopus offers a choice of ground or solid-wall mounting, and the ground-mount system is particularly simple, with relatively few components to assemble.
  • Eligible for export payments: Octopus customers who buy this kit can join its Outgoing Prime export tariff and get paid for surplus electricity.

Cons

  • Fixed mounting angles: Neither mounting option allows tilt adjustment. The ground frame holds the panels at a fixed 20° angle, while the wall-mount brackets hold them vertically at 90°. This limits your ability to optimise the panels for generation or adapt the angle to suit the installation location, unlike the adjustable-angle frames supplied with some other kits.
